The firm's Managing Partner Daniel Sohn, was selected to represent the state of California to the Nation’s Selective Service System as a local board member after being nominated by California Governor Gavin Newsom.
“I am honored to be given this opportunity to serve my country and to represent the state of California by Governor Gavin Newsom and President Joe Biden,” said Sohn. “As someone who was not born in the United States, the law dictates that I cannot be president. I am proud to say that at least I can be appointed by one. I am humbled to be asked to serve at the pleasure of the president as a local board member to the Selective Service System.”
Along with 58 other nominees, Sohn’s appointment began Monday, Nov. 1, and can potentially last for 21 years depending on who the president is.
